Description
Shelby Baptist Medical Center: Located in Alabaster, this facility is equipped with 252 beds and sees over 51,000 patients in the emergency department every year. Shelby offers advanced technology resources including a 3 Tesla MRI, a robotic surgery program, and a state-of-the-art cardiology suite. Shelby offers a full range of services to meet the diverse needs of patients including fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including specialized surgical services; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; and psychiatric care.
Job Summary
The Asst. Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who manages the daily operations of a department (s) to provide services for patients while meeting quality, legal, organizational and medical staff goals. Responsible for promoting the efficient operations to provide effective nursing care of a designated department (s). Manages the department independently under the guidance of an Manager.
Job Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, JCAHO and the Nurse Practice Act. Promotes optimum health care delivery within budgetary guidelines. Is responsible for department(s) on a 24 hour basis.
Education
Required: Academic degree in nursing
Preferred: Bachelors or Masters degree
Experience
Required: 1 year of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a leader or full time charge nurse/related position
Certification
Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. CPR
