Princeton Baptist Medical Center:Located in Birmingham, this hospital is equipped with 505 beds and serves 53,000 people for primary and emergency care. Princeton offers fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including structural heart and valve care; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; psychiatric care; a comprehensive sleep center; and a Comprehensive Bariatrics Center, providing surgical and non-surgical weight-loss procedures.


Assists Director in providing supervision over the CPE program for BBHS. Offers pastoral care and counseling to patients, staff and the community.


  • Provide assistance in the development, coordination and implementation of the Clinical Pastoral Education curriculum.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the education program offerings comply with standards of the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, conduct and participate in educational experiences for Clinical Pastoral Education Interns, Students and Residents.
  • Provides spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families and staff.
  • Provides assistance to the Director in the leadership of the department and functions as the Senior Clinical Chaplain in the absence of the Director.




Required: Master's degree in Divinity or related theological field.


Required: 3 years of related experience.


Required: ACPE Educator Certification from the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). Certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Preferred: Certification by The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education as a Full or Associate ACPE Supervisor. Ordained with ecclesiastical endorsement.
