Responsibilities

Princeton Baptist Medical Center:Located in Birmingham, this hospital is equipped with 505 beds and serves 53,000 people for primary and emergency care. Princeton is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and is committed to contributing to the future of health care through its clinical research and medical residency program. Princeton offers fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including structural heart and valve care; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; psychiatric care; a comprehensive sleep center; and a Comprehensive Bariatrics Center, providing surgical and non-surgical weight-loss procedures.

Performs diagnostic procedures utilizing radiation detection and imaging equipment. Provides quality care to patients of all age groups, from newborn to elderly, according to department standards. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Under the directions of the Medical Directors and management staff, is responsible for quality and quantity of work performed, including phlebotomy, on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients ensuring patient safety in a given section of the laboratory. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience; graduate of accredited school of medical laboratory technicians or equivalent

Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, AMT or equivalent) within one year of hire
