The Nurse Extern II will be assigned to an experienced RN each shift and will assist with providing care similar to a patient care tech. Skills learned include planning, prioritizing
and implementing patient care, medication management, assessment and reassessment, equipment and technology, SBAR and handoff techniques.
Rotation Details
The Nurse Extern II will rotate to various units such as the emergency department, intensive care units (CVICU, MICU, SICU), med-surg/tele areas, women’s services or specialty
rotations (surgical services, cath lab and Center for Psychiatry).

Nurse Extern II Requirements:

before their senior year begins.)
• A letter of recommendation from the nursing faculty is required with the application.
