Responsibilities
Princeton Baptist Medical Center: Located in Birmingham, this hospital is equipped with 505 beds and serves 53,000 people for primary and emergency care. Princeton is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and is committed to contributing to the future of health care through its clinical research and medical residency program. Princeton offers fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including structural heart and valve care; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; psychiatric care; a comprehensive sleep center; and a Comprehensive Bariatrics Center, providing surgical and non-surgical weight-loss procedures. .
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs as prescribed by a licensed practitioner; assists with amnio procedure biopsies; processes and files films as needed
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography
Preferred: Associates degree
Experience
Preferred: 1-3 years
Certifications
Required: Must be registered within 24 months of graduation(and 12 months of hire); BLS
Preferred: ARDMS or ARRT(S ) preferred
