Manages day-to-day functions of Patient Communications department to include the patient registration system and telephone system.

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Experience:

Required: 2 years of experience or training in this or similar position.
Preferred: 1 year of first line management experience.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the training of all staff to ensure calls are answered/delivered with speed accuracy and efficiency. 
• Coordinates, evaluates, and motivates staff while monitoring effective use of time and resources. 
• Coordinates and maintains assigned programs and systems. 
• Serves as a resource for operations related projects and assignments. Plans and implements improvements for department. 
• Responds to inquiries and requests from patients, staff, physicians and referring offices. 
• Reviews insurance authorizations for same day and next day appointments. 
• Oversees telephone system to include involvement in the selection of systems, repair, and updates. 
• Schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage. 
• Coordinates with the IT department to ensure that the phone system is correctly programmed for holidays.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:  Bachelor's degree

Experience:

Required: 2 years of experience or training in this or similar position.
Preferred: 1 year of first line management experience.
