JOB DESCRIPTION:

The AI Product Engineer will be a crucial member of the AI Solutions team and contribute to the development and deployment of AI-enabled products that will directly impact healthcare delivery. The individual will contribute to end-to-end product development from prototype to production. This is a high-impact role for an engineer seeking to develop products that will directly impact healthcare delivery across a national network. This role requires a strong technical foundation in software engineering, proficiency in Python, and an understanding of AI.

Engineering & Development: Develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable code for AI solutions and supporting data pipelines across our cloud platforms. Work closely with senior engineers and data scientists to implement and productionize AI models and tools, from initial proof-of-concept to full deployment. Contribute to entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation and rigorous unit and integration testing. Assist in the creation of rapid prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) to quickly validate technical feasibility and measurable value. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and deployment blockers throughout the development and continuous integration process.

AI Model Support & Maintenance:Work closely with our data engineering team to support the technical setup and maintenance of data dependencies for AI model prompting and inference. Assist in monitoring deployed AI models for performance, accuracy, and data drift, ensuring solutions continue to deliver reliable outcomes. Contribute to the documentation related to technical architecture, code standards, data workflows, and business rules supporting AI products. Help ensure all developed solutions adhere to Tenet’s AI governance standards and comply with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.

Collaboration & Continuous Learning: Collaborate with product managers and other cross-functional team members to understand product goals and translate high-level requirements into clean, effective code. Proactively learn and adopt new technologies, systems, and frameworks in AI to enhance our AI solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related technical field is required.

Experience:

  • At least 2-4years of hands-on experience in software engineering or a related technical role.
  • High proficiency in Python and experience with relevant data science libraries.
  • Strong foundational understanding of AI advancements, data pipelines, and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with deployment and monitoring considerations for AI solutions.
  • Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating closely with technical teams.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a technical team.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, depending on need.
  • Experience within a healthcare technology environment is a plus.
