The Director, Financial and Supply Chain Material Management Systems, is responsible for leading the business requirements, development, testing, documentation, training and ongoing technical support of Tenet’s purchasing receiving, inventory control and accounts payable system (IMMS), General Ledger, and associated applications. This position is the key liaison between Tenets Information Systems Department and our Corporate and Hospital customers. The Director’s primary goals are to maintain the integrity of these systems and to enhance the system to support Tenet’s operations effectively and efficiently using appropriate technologies.

Duties & Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality service to business partners, and to ensure Service Support and Service Delivery processes are in place to meet business needs.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Supply Chain and Financial Systems leaders and team members.
  • Establish and manage expectations within the business partner organizations and drive the IT team to achieve those expectations to a high standard.
  • Champion Service and Support in projects and develop a strong understanding of projects impacting the Supply Chain/Financial applications as well as the Corporate portfolio and ensure service impact is minimized.
  • Partner with business counterparts to develop a comprehensive road map for the maintenance, improvement, and/or replacement of the applications within their portfolio.
  • Lead stabilization and improvement efforts.
  • Manage the relationship with the vendor and monitor services delivery throughout the initiative. Ensure the services delivered by the vendor conform to what has been contractually agreed between client and vendor and monitoring the delivery of those services against agreed schedule, quality, scope and budget
  • Manage billing and invoicing for Vendors. Own any accounts payable or billings issues arising from portfolio initiatives.
  • Manage the financial aspects of any contracts (billing for services, following-up on payments etc.).
  • Maintain line of site to ROI (initially proposed and ongoing).


  • This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years in technical/applications leadership.
  • Operational knowledge in Healthcare, Materials Management, Financial Systems applications a plus.
  • Strong leadership, Organizational, Product Management, and matrix management skills are critical to the success in this space.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in either Business or Computer Science is recommended.
  • Experience managing systems across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with stabilizing teams and decreasing risk to application stability.
  • Experience with dealing directly with business partners and clients.
  • Ability to lead direct employees, influence positive change across other IT and Business organizations.
