This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing opportunities in strategic sourcing for Tenet Healthcare, DIR, STRATEGIC SOURCING oversees day to day contracting activities such as the monitoring of contract performance, the development, evaluation and management of vendor relationships, the drafting and negotiating of contracts, the building of relationships with Tenet clinical and operational stakeholders as well as the implementation and monitoring of contracts with hospitals. In addition, in collaboration with other Supply Chain and Procurement team, DIR. STRATEGIC SOURCING oversees benchmarking activities, the reviewing of industry best practice, and other initiatives to achieve cost savings and increase quality. The process of leading and developing a contract portfolio for clinical service lines should must aligned with sourcing high quality products at an effective cost and focusing on supply chain excellence.A Bachelor’s degree in any health or business area is required. A Master’s degree in any health or business related area is preferred. Sourcing and contracting experience in procedural areas (Cath Lab, EP, IR, etc.) is preferred. At least 5-7 years of relevant and proven work experience in Healthcare, Finance, or Supply Chain. The role requires a deep understanding of Supply Chain functions, including, but not limited to, knowledge of GPO and local contract sourcing as well as related procedures pertaining to contracting strategies and contract management across clinical departments as well as non-clinical and purchased services sourcing. Knowledge of strategic sourcing including analyzing spend, benchmarking, reviewing industry best practices and achieving cost reduction whilst maintaining or improving quality. Supply chain experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to develop and execute against a contract strategy to support clinical program development; this includes scanning the market and proactively identifying contract opportunities
  • Ability to perform and leverage analytics to inform sourcing/contracting strategies (e.g., benchmarking, industry/market analysis, spend analysis, contribution margin analysis, cost/benefit analysis)
  • Track record of identifying and implementing cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives across various areas (e.g., pricing, standardizing, utilization)
  • Ability to manage internal customer and supplier relationships to ensure successful contract implementation and operational effectiveness
  • Exceptional relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills that translate into strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams (e.g., physicians, clinical staff, administrative support staff, business planning)
  • Ability to create strategic business plans for various contract categories and clearly communicate ideas to senior leadership for input and support
  • Understanding of contract management and contract risks/gaps in the healthcare provider industry as well as understanding of how to coordinate with legal
