Manager, Applications Lifecycle (Onsite based in Dallas, TX or remote based if not local)

Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applications Lifecycle Management Lead to join our team in the Information Services industry. As the Applications Lifecycle Management (ALM), you will be responsible for the oversight and successful management of our application inventory, application risks, rationalization, usage monitoring, and security features from implementation to retirement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to stand up Service Now Application Portfolio Management Solution (APM) inclusive of providing expertise to ITSM team to build and maintain Tenet’s CMDB. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of applications life cycle best practices, platform risk, application decommissioning protocols, and a strong financial acumen.
Responsibilities:
ALM Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive ALM strategy that aligns with Tenet’s goals and objectives
- Define and document ALM processes, standards and best practices
- Create plans to address end-of-life applications and protect your business
- Partner with Portfolio to get rid of redundant and obsolete applications to reduce IT expenses
Project Management
- Coordinate with project managers, App Dev team, Cyber team and other Tenet and other business lines such as (TPR, Conifer, USPI etc.) cross functional stakeholders to manage ALM
- Provide visibility and control of applications vital to digital transformation
- Proactively identify and communicate to portfolio owners risks and issues related to applications (EOL, EOS, MFA, Licensing)
- Develop dashboards/reports to arm management and teams with data required to manage company’s technology debt
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate application risk
Development and Deployment
- Build and manage the application source of truth that can be leveraged for app rationalization, expiry, expansion, usage, and security features that allows for data‑driven decisions on whether to invest, sustain, or replace applications
- Manage technology risk by monitoring the versions and lifecycles that run critical business applications
- CMDB Gap identification and planning to resolve gaps inclusive of application cost, usage, and risk
- Manage version control, build and release management processes
Quality Assurance, Maintenance & Support
- Implement and enforce quality assurance practices to ensure high quality software
- Manage the ongoing maintenance and support of the application with internal teams, MSSP, vendors etc.
- Oversee application upgrades and patch management.
MFA and Security
- Lead MFA program for applications and cyber that spans acute, TPR, USPI, and Conifer
- Perform App Rationalization tasks with right stakeholders and work with Cyber team to provide required data
- Work with cross functional team on prioritization and capacity planning
Application Rationalization
- Serve as apps leader for applications rationalization ensuring process is followed and vendor management team and finance have key data elements to report out
- Capture decommissioned apps data
- Reconcile FMO reports from Apptio against Service Now source of truth APM
- Leverage APM to align technology investments and services to business value streams via capability-based planning
- SME in this space for all portfolios, infra, cyber and business stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field desired.
- Proven experience in leading application development and maintenance projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Experience managing and optimizing application lifecycle management tools and systems.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Compensation
- Pay: $103,584 - $165,568 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
- Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Up to 25% travel to the Tenet Healthcare Corporate office in Dallas, TX if not local. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be conducted on the finalist.
