MARKET SUMMARY:

The Market includes legal activities for Tenet’s Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas, as well as Tenet and USPI facilities located within the nine Groups that include Desert Care Network; Northern California Group; El Paso Group; Michigan Group; Massachusetts Group; Mid-South Group; Arizona Group; Texas Group (San Antonio/Nacogdoches/Rio Grande); and Palm Beach Group.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Counsel position will be expected to provide legal advice primarily focused on employment related issues, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, OSHA and similar subjects. The Senior Counsel will oversee and manage employment related litigation conducted by outside counsel. Additionally, this individual will be required to give training presentations to hospital personnel from time-to-time on legal issues that pertain to compliance with federal and state employment laws.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Six to eight years years of experience in employment law. Prior large law firm, healthcare and litigation experience is preferred.

He/she should also have the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including top executives and outside counsel. This position will involve handling confidential matters requiring the exercise of good judgment and discretion.
Education/Certifications

Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA Accredited Law School is required and fully qualified to practice in the State of Texas.

Compensation

A competitive compensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate. Base salary will be supplemented by a performance bonus and comprehensive, well-rounded benefits program, which includes relocation assistance.

Travel

Approximately 10-15%
