JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Director of Physician and Provider Recruitment is a pivotal role as they are responsible for strategically attracting and retaining qualified medical professionals. Their responsibilities include developing recruitment strategies, identifying organizational needs, establishing relationships with potential candidates, and negotiating employment contracts. They oversee the entire recruitment process, from candidate evaluation to onboarding, while tracking metrics to assess effectiveness and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and staying updated on industry trends are essential for success in this role. The Senior Director plays a vital part in ensuring the organization's ability to deliver high-quality patient care by securing a skilled and diverse workforce.

  • Spearhead physician recruitment efforts for TPR, focusing on attracting top-tier talent to meet the organization's staffing needs and strategic objectives.
  • Implement robust sourcing strategies to identify and engage prospective candidates, leveraging both traditional methods and innovative approaches to support both TPR and third-party locations, ensuring a diverse and qualified candidate pool.
  • Take charge of hospital-based provider staffing initiatives, encompassing mid-level providers, to streamline the coverage model. Consolidate all sourcing activities under one cohesive strategy, optimizing efficiency and ensuring comprehensive coverage across all healthcare settings.
  • Extend recruitment efforts to include Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who complement and support outpatient physicians, aligning with the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and expanding healthcare access.
  • The Senior Director works with Market TPR leaders and Hospital Leadership to support monthl collaboration calls with In-Market Recruiters, Strategy Officers, and TPR CEOs. The Senior Director also provides reports on the market’s pipeline of physician candidates.
  • Work closely with marketing to build and maintain employer branding and social media campaigns.
  • Incorporate a collaborative approach to filling vacancies.
  • Work closely with legal and compensation teams to ensure offers and contracts are executed accurately. With ongoing support from the legal and compensation team on building out these contracts.
  • Build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • The Senior Director works closely with the Graduate Medical Education programs across Tenet to define strategies for graduate retention within the Tenet family.
  • The Senior Director recruits physician advisors by sourcing, screening, and referring candidates to the markets where there is a vacancy.
  • The Senior Director owns the relationships with all job boards, third-party recruitment firms, and locums agencies. He or she also works with Procurement to ensure the timely completion of contractual obligations and renewals.
  • The Senior Director works with TPR’s Chief Strategy Officer daily regarding strategic planning to determine the Department’s success. This includes scrutinizing vendors and firms, sourcing strategies, creating best practices, industry trends, department activity, and successes, and identifying target areas for improvement. The position ensures the accuracy of the Physician Recruitment Department’s database entries and provides reports and presentations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, management, business, or related field.
  • Must have Physician or Hospital experience and be well-versed in the different specialties. Extensive sales, telemarketing, or external recruiting experience is required.
  • Self-motivated and possess excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, problem solving, and time management skills are essential.
  • Understanding of recruitment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software, Salesforce.
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets, mitigating risk to ensure needed timelines are met, and managing multiple strategic priorities.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and high-level influencing skills.
  • Leads with executive presence.
