Senior Ethics Advisor

Tenet Healthcare has an immediate opening for a Senior Ethics Advisor. This position functions under the direction of the Director, Ethics & Compliance. The EAL is to comply with the guidelines of the Corporate Compliance, Human Resources and Administration Policy and Procedures and local, state, and federal laws. The Supervisor position will provide supervision to the Ethics Advisor(s), the Ethics Action Line and Compliance Questionnaire process. The EAL Advisors provide a confidential and objective resource for inquiries and complaints from Tenet employees, physicians, and others about a variety of business conduct and related issues. Inquiries are triaged, assigned priority and investigated in coordination with staff and operational functions to ensure an objective and fair resolution. The potential impact of mishandling these inquiries is significant in terms of the reputation of the Company and how individuals may be affected, with litigation being a possibility in some situations. The EAL activity becomes part of a computerized data base that is a resource for management to determine actions needed to improve the ethical conduct of the company.

This role is currently based in our headquarters office in downtown Dallas, but, will move to the Addison, Texas area in Q1 of 2020.

Experience: Advising or counseling people, working in a large organization; human resources experience is helpful.
Skills Required: Excellent verbal communication skills are required for effectively handling extended telephone conversations with Ethics Action Line callers. Also, the ideal candidate must be able to effectively facilitate problem resolution with other departments and functions. Excellent written communication skills are required in order to effectively and accurately summarize the information from the EAL calls into a factual and actionable report. Analytical mind to prioritize concerns, obtain and organize data, and develop the proper approach to ensure resolution. Mature judgment to convey the proper demeanor to those reporting alleged concerns, and to determine the appropriate strategy for inquiry and resolution. Interpersonal relations to include empathy, patience, and good listening skills to establish rapport with the complainant. Organizational talent to cope with fast-paced work environment which is often dealing with customers (Employees, Patients, A-Team Members, HR Leaders, Compliance Officers and Regional Management) who are stressed out, anxious, sometimes rude, and often with false expectations about resolution of their problems.
