The Senior Integration Analyst – Medical Devices is responsible for leading integration efforts that connect and optimize medical devices across the enterprise and hospital markets. This role combines technical integration expertise with project coordination and solution scoping, ensuring that market-driven initiatives align with enterprise standards and deliver measurable value. The Senior Analyst serves as a key liaison between clinical, operational, and technical teams, as well as vendors, to deliver seamless device connectivity and reliable performance across the health system.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration & Technical Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations between medical devices and enterprise platforms (e.g., EHR, Cerner, middleware, and interoperability solutions).
  • Support interface builds, testing, validation, and deployment for device data flows (HL7, FHIR, IHE standards).
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, coordinate incident resolution, and ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements.
  • Partner with biomedical engineering and IT infrastructure teams to ensure device connectivity meets enterprise standards.

Project Coordination & Scoping

  • Manage intake of enterprise and market-driven medical device projects, coordinating with stakeholders to define objectives, requirements, and resource needs.
  • Lead initial project scoping, including feasibility assessments, timeline development, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, market leaders, and clinical leadership to align integration work with enterprise priorities.
  • Provide coordination for project deliverables, testing, go-live planning, and post-implementation support.
  • Manage and track tickets efficiently to ensure timely resolution of integration-related requests.
  • Oversee procurement processes and vendor quotes to accelerate project execution and maintain budget alignment.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary IT liaison with device vendors and third-party integration partners, ensuring solutions meet enterprise integration and compliance standards.
  • Facilitate communication across clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of integration solutions with workflow needs.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations and contribute to recommendations for new devices and integration technologies.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor and report on integration performance, identifying opportunities for workflow optimization and system reliability improvements.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation, technical specifications, and support guides.
  • Contribute to the creation and enforcement of enterprise integration standards and governance policies.
  • Adopt an architecturally minded approach, considering long-term scalability, resilience, and optimization in integration design.
  • Think strategically about the clinical application lifecycle, ensuring integration decisions aligning with long-term enterprise goals and evolving healthcare needs.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT integration, with at least 2 years focusing on medical device integration.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7, FHIR, IHE profiles, device communication protocols, and integration engines (e.g., Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf).
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination and requirements gathering for enterprise-level healthcare initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot across clinical workflows, device connectivity, and system interfaces.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clinical, operational, vendor, and IT leadership stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cerner CareAware or other major EHR medical device integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA medical device regulations, and cybersecurity considerations for connected devices.
  • Previous experience in a multi-hospital health system or large integrated delivery network (IDN).
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) or Lean/Six Sigma training.

  • Strategic Planning: Understands and anticipates long-term clinical application lifecycle needs to align integration decisions with enterprise strategy.
