JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Director, AI Solutions will spearhead a cross-functional collaboration to identify, develop and deploy of AI-powered solutions to advance the organization’s strategic and operational priorities. The role will coordinate across internal stakeholders and select external partners to pilot, scale, and monitor solutions with measurable return on investment. Furthermore, the individual must ensure potential AI solutions are compliant with regulations and Tenet policies.

Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with Operations, Data & Analytics and IS leadership to develop a portfolio of AI use cases to support the organization’s strategic priorities. Develop and manage an approach to identify and test potential solutions that leverage the latest advancements in AI. Conduct assessments and develop business cases to secure funding. This includes supporting a hybrid approach including in-house development, co-development with strategic partners, as well as piloting and scaling emerging solutions from reputable vendors.

Product Development Leadership: Lead rapid POV and prototyping for high potential, AI-enabled solutions for in-house development. Determine internal and external resources needed to support further advancements. Additionally, oversee a data science team, currently dedicated to Conifer Health Solutions for revenue cycle management services. This includes people management, product management and budget management. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Governance: Support effective collaboration across business owners, third-party strategic partners, IS and Data & Analytics. Establish cross-functional governance of AI solutions that is aligned with enterprise risk framework and other critical safeguarding policies and procedures.

Financial and Program Management Oversight: Develop and management comprehensive project plans and integrated roadmap for AI solutions across Tenet Healthcare, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. This includes establishing and measuring quantitative impact of AI solutions and financial returns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or appropriately relevant field, is required. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration or Public Health is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of at least 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry with knowledge of the industry dynamics, healthcare technology, and product and operations management.

Other requirements:

  • Exhibited success in a healthcare technology and product development role.
  • Strong understanding of AI advancements in generative AI, machine learning etc.
  • Experience working with healthcare data and familiarity with healthcare regulations.
  • Proven experience developing financial business cases and program budget management.
  • Skilled at team building and has a track-record of being a collaborative and effective manager.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, depending on need.
