Vice President of Treasury

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As Vice President of Treasury reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role involves building and leading a treasury team to strategically support the organization’s goals. Responsibilities include supporting capital allocation strategies, capital market transactions, banking relationships, cash management, risk management, treasury analytics, and other related disciplines. Collaboration with various functional teams is essential, and active participation in senior leadership committees is expected. The Vice President of Treasury will also play a key role in human capital development within the treasury function and establishing strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the CEO, CFO, business unit leaders, capital markets & banking communities, and rating agencies.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a treasury team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Foster a team that can support all business priorities with strong tactical execution and strategic understanding.
Capital Allocation:
- Evaluate short-term and long-term capital allocation plans, scenarios, and analytics.
- Monitor and optimize deployment of capital against plans.
- Oversee and execute an efficient capital leasing program.
Capital Markets:
- Manage key lending and investment banking relationships related to lending and capital markets transaction.
- Function as primary relationship manager of rating agency relationships and communications.
- Execute private and public market financing and liability management transactions.
- Manage compliance certifications of Notes and bank facilities.
- Analyze and execute financing requirements for transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and other related activities.
Risk Management:
- Address various facets of risk management, including interest rate and service-liability risk.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate financial risks.
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flows effectively to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
- Assess and monitor daily and long-term liquidity.
- Assess and execute on overnight investments.
- Implement strategies for optimizing bank accounts and overall banking fees.
Collaboration with Functional Teams:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Information Systems, Investor Relations, Tax, FP&A, M&A, Legal, and the Controller’s Office, among others.
- Ensure Treasury resources are aligned to support operational and strategic objectives.
Senior Leadership Committees:
- Participate in senior leadership committees focused on optimizing capital investment and working capital performance.
- Provide key insights and recommendations to enhance financial strategies.
- Establish strong business relationships with internal stakeholders, including operating leaders, CEO, CFO, and functional teams.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in progressively more responsible treasury-oriented roles within a complex company.
- Outstanding financial acumen developed within a large, public company treasury department, or within an investment bank/commercial bank serving a similar clientele.
- Exposure to all facets of the treasury function is expected, demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of how the treasury area can impact operations.
- Team-oriented and relationship-based leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various external parties and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong strategic thinking and execution abilities, with a firsthand, roll-up-the-sleeves management style.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence are essential.
- Ability to work in a variety of multi-cultural settings and demonstrate sensitivity to different cultural contexts.
- Undergraduate degree is required, and an MBA is a significant plus.
