Description
Under the direction of a licensed Physician or Registered Nurse, provides direct and/or indirect, safe and effective nursing care. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the practice. Adheres to the monitoring of and compliance with all licensing and regulatory agency guidelines Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation when delivering nursing care. Prepares equipment and assists physician or Registered Nurse during treatments and examinations of patients.

- Assists in assessments process by collecting data, making observations and reporting/documenting in the medical record
- Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to care for age specific needs of the population served
- Makes observation related to patient progress in achieving established goals
- Instructs patient/significant other(s) and/or reinforces teaching according to patient plan of care an established by multi-disciplinary team
- Recognizes physical changes and responds within standards of care
- Documentation is consistently complete, accurate and legible including medications administered, exceptions and patients’ response
- Ensures that core measure and meaningful use standards are met in accordance with policies and procedures
- Anticipates physician’s routine needs and provides such in a timely fashion
- Performs professionally in emergency and crisis situations
- Provides appropriate patient and family education
Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
Experience:
Required: 2 years of clinical in a physician office. EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred.
Certifications:
Required: Current State LVN/LPN license and current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
