Job Summary
Manages the personnel, operational and financial activities of the general accounting function for multiple sites including, but not limited to, the generation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Meets regularly with hospital business partners and corporate finance management to review financial statements, including the variance analysis of key income statement and balance sheet anomalies.
Understands the relationship between operational activity and financial results through collaboration with hospital departments.
Manages the personnel, operational and financial activities of the capital allocation process for the Detroit market. Ensures the accuracy of the capital allocation process and forecasting of cash flow.
Evaluates and constructs business plans, Pro Formas, and ROIC analysis for new strategic projects. Overseas administrative capital allocation process. Works with the Director of Net Revenue with regards to the personnel, operational and financial activities of the net revenue function.
Aids the preparation of annual and quarterly cost reports, net revenue maximization and modeling impacts of changes in third party regulations and commercial payor contracts.
Conducts complex analyses on assigned operating units costs and applicable third party reimbursements and makes recommendations on the development of financial strategies to maximize net revenues and cost recovery. Initiates and recommends personnel actions, including employee mentoring, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
Develops goals and measures for area of responsibility in conjunction with higher level management. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. MBA or Masters of Finance preferred.
- Five+ years of progressively more responsible financial management, including development of accounting functions, financial modeling and forecasting experience, preferably in a health care setting.
