Description:

Summary

The Cancer Registrar I is responsible for identifying, case-finding, abstracting, and follow-up, Coordinates Cancer Conference activities and data management of all patients with malignancies, incorporating them into the THoP Cancer Registry and reporting them to the State, ensuring that American College of Surgeons (ACOS) and Texas Department of Health requirements are met in their entirety for the Network Cancer Program. Other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Education
Required: High School Graduate or equivalent

Certifications
Preferred associate’s degree in any field, equivalent of 60 college-level credits, or Allied Health Associate’s Degree program. If none of the above apply, a minimum five years experience in allied health field is required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, clinical and ancillary management. Must multitask and prioritize work efficiently. Excellent computer skills. Basic mathematical skills. High degree of integrity, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Professional appearance.
