Director, Regional Physician Practice Revenue Cycle

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle, the Regional Director of Revenue Cycle Management will support the revenue cycle operations of the physician practices by providing expertise in front-end best practice operations, payer and patient billing and collections for their region. The Regional Director will review, monitor, and assist in the explanation of monthly revenue performance against budget, benchmark service level agreements and assist in the development of the annual regional budgets for physician practices. The position will interface with key operations management and vendor partners, for their region, to ensure timely resolution of issues and accurate and optimal reimbursement for services provided. The Regional Revenue Cycle Director will work closely with Clinical Informatics, Operations and Finance departments, for their region, on revenue cycle issues and reporting.

- Develop and/or implement, processes and controls for all regional billing activities to ensure a timely, correct and appropriate revenue cycle process including third-party approvals and follow-up in accordance with established internal and third party payer requirements.
- Standardize revenue cycle reporting to include service level agreements, defined benchmarks and key performance indicators. Determine and develop interim achievement goals.
- Develop and implement regional educational programs for practice operations management and staff on revenue cycle standards and provide timely feedback of key performance indicators.
- Review data on revenue cycle reports and direct/develop comprehensive plans for operations teams, within their regions, on reaching benchmark on established KPIs and improvements toward reducing outstanding AR. Develop and implement remediation plans as needed.
- Leads and directs the activities of the RCM Analysts, within their regions, and establishes regular forms of communication to ensure company goals and objectives are being met; works with Directors of Operations within their regions to develop and implement any corrective actions or process changes necessary to meet objectives.
- Serve as a liaison to third party billing company to resolve payment and other receivable issues within their regions.
- RCM regional leader at business meetings with payers, outsourced vendors and billing partners on RCM issues.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise and knowledge of the healthcare industry including billing laws, rules, regulations, and state requirements within their regions.
- Participate in projects or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the revenue cycle, the interconnectivity of physician practice activities, and the uniqueness of the revenue cycle in a physician-based healthcare system.
- Capacity to review, identify and implement improvement opportunities where new processes, technology or efficiencies can be applied.
- Comprehensive analytical skills utilizing complex spreadsheets, comparison tools and other evaluation systems, as needed.
- Demonstrated judgment in prioritizing projects, reaching appropriate analytical conclusions and managing complex tasks.
- Sound facilitation, consensus building and conflict resolution skills.
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Health Administration or equivalent experience.
- MBA preferred.
- 5-8 years experience directing the revenue cycle management function in a large medical group or integrated delivery health system.

Pay Range: $132,080 - $171,600 - $211,120
