JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing a collections department including staffing, training, and strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Reviews monthly reports that are prepared by site management, surfaces relevant issues, analyzes and develops corrective action plans.
  • Oversees hiring in the region and provides training/coaching to branch supervision.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of all work efforts on the required forms set forth by company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes procedures for daily operations (with input form site management)
  • Supervises, plans, organizes, and directs the daily activities of the department and its collection functions.
  • Anticipates future changes/needs, creating strategic and operational plans for addressing them.
  • Resolves corporate interface problems which cannot be resolved at the supervisory level.
  • Develops operational targets in collaboration with site management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Direct Reports (titles) 2 – 3 Supervisors, 3-4 Support Staff

Indirect Reports (titles) 15-20 Collectors and Account Specialists

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare A/R
  • Excellent working knowledge of Patient Financial Services operations with specific focus on collections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Ability to provide advanced customer service
  • Ability to plan and implement process improvements
  • Ability to train and coach staff
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4-year college degree in Healthcare Administration, Business preferred
  • 5 – 7 years management experience in credit/collections (Healthcare or related industry preferred)

Compensation and Benefit Information

Compensation

  • Pay: $72,509.00 - $108,763.00 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
  • Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
