Volunteer Services Coordinator Part Time Days Position Summary

Responsible for volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision. Conducts various recruitment projects with the local schools and outside agencies for building the network of volunteers within the hospital. Plans, organizes, and facilitates all volunteer orientations and in training sessions. Plans, implements and evaluates volunteer service positions/programs to support and enhance patient experience initiatives. Responsible for the annual Volunteer Holiday Luncheon, as well as the Volunteer Week Luncheon. In addition to ordering and distribution of the annual volunteer gift.

Job Responsibilities

Communicates new policies or changes to existing policies to all volunteers. Manages, recommends, and assigns appropriate numbers of qualified and competent volunteers to provide services within the hospital as requested by departments. Work in collaboration with department heads to determine volunteer needs. Ensures the proper and timely scheduling of volunteer staff for all assignments. Completes initial and yearly competency assessment for all volunteers. Determines training and educational needs of volunteers and provides for in-service and continuing education opportunities as needed. Ensures that all volunteers are oriented to the hospital and are trained on maintaining confidentiality in regards to all information prior to placement. Develops procedures for effective recruitment, interviewing, placement, and orientation of volunteers.

THE DIETARY DIRECTOR CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

EDUCATION

Required: Associate Degree
Preferred: Bachelor degree

Required: 3 years related experience
