Summary

Responsible for the administration, interpretation and evaluation of tests and measurements. Plans and modifies treatment programs. Works with neonatal through geriatric patients with clinical competency, as applicable. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist responds to physician orders for occupational therapy. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. The Occupational Therapist reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies treatment plan accordingly. The Occupational Therapist develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Develop, improve or restore skills in activities of daily living, work or productive activities. The Occupational Therapist seeks clarification of physician orders as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

Experience

Required: No previous work experience necessary.

Preferred: Clinical experience in variety of settings, Hand Therapy, Ergonomics, etc.

Certifications

Required: Possession of current Texas State License.

BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center

Preferred: Clinical Instructor Certification. Advanced Clinical Certification in Hand Therapy, Neuro Development Therapy , etc.
