Originally called Indio Community Hospital, JFK has grown to a 145-bed acute-care hospital that is part of Tenet Healthcare California. The RN I assumes principle responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Emergency Department patients.
Additionally, the RN I initiates patient teaching and educates the family or significant other to attain optimal health.
The RN I uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
The RN I continues in a mentor relationship with a designated RN, and works toward independent practice and growth educationally in the Emergency Department.
California Registered Nurse License
Basic Computer Skills
ACLS within three (3) months of hire
PALS within three (3) months of hire
MICN (after one year of employment as an RN)
ED Triage Course (after one year of employment as an RN)
AB-508 Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within six (6) months of hire
