Los Alamitos Medical Center is a 172-bed acute-care facility serving the residents of Orange County.

Los Alamitos Medical Center serves the Orange County and great Long Beach areas. Specializations include a dedicated outpatient facility that houses cancer, imaging, and infusion centers, a bi-plane catheterization lab, robot-assisted surgery capabilities, an Orthopedic Destination Center and radiation oncology physician services provided by UCLA Health. Awards and distinctions include the American Stroke Association Get With the Guidelines Gold+ Performance Achievement Award for Stroke with Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll and a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation by DNV-GL.

Summary

Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA is responsible for providing direct patient care in a safe and effective manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data collection and care appropriate to the age of patients served, with appropriate Nursing Assistant interventions. The Nursing Assistant plays a key role in ensuring excellent customer satisfaction to our patients. Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the constant observer maintains constant direct observation and visualization of identified patients(s). The Nursing Assistant provided activities of daily living to patients, and is responsible for providing excellent patient hygiene. Assisting patients with ambulation, toileting needs, and taking vital signs are additional functions of this role. Immediate attention to patient call lights is an exception as well.

Training and Experience:

Mandatory:

  • One year acute care experience. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background.
  • Current AHA Provide Basic Life Support
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certificate or currently enrolled Nursing Student who has successfully completed their first semester of RN Program (ADN or BSN).

Preferred:

  • Current enrollment in BSN Program
  • Medical Terminology
  • Order Entry

Pay Range: $19.50 - $22.42
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee’s qualifications and experience.
