The professional Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled, high quality care for all patient groups in the Surgical Services Department.Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care.Assists the Department Director in providing direction in the development and evaluation of all nursing personnel and in maintaining operations of the patient care unit.Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care including daily staffing needs as well as relief assignment.Able to cover call in emergency situations.Contributes to nursing and hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts and research efforts.Demonstrates a high degree of critical thinking, technical skills, initiative, integrity, accuracy and nursing judgement in an interdisciplinary practice.
Required: Academic degree in nursing
Preferred: Bachelors or Masters degree
Required:Active California R.N. license, Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire.National Certification required for Shift Manager III and IV. Shift Manager II requires BSN OR National Certification.
