This position is accountable to the program director of the inpatient rehabilitation program.The main job duties are 1) respond to and carry out pre-admission screenings for patients referred to the rehab program and 2) to develop and implement patient attraction strategies as a means to promote the features and benefits of the rehab program to patients, families and the community.The amount of time spent performing either task will vary based on volume of activity.

Bachelor s Degree and a clinical licensure requiredapplicable to the provision of acute rehabilitation services
Must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience which clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills have been demonstrated; experience in rehab settings a plus
Ability to comprehensively review a medical record for rehab medical necessity; consistently applied organizational skills; results oriented; independently goal directed; able to multi-task; able to communicate well with many diverse audiences- professional and lay; able to meet established timeframes; general customer service skills; able to work independently; able to pass both the FIM competency and pre-admission screening competency; experience with computer and other electronic data entry devices; must have valid driver s license
 CMS regulation that screening personnel be clinical.Medicare Benefits Policy Manual, amended 2010.
 CMS and CARF dictate the functions of this person to be able to evaluate a patient.
 Competency not required but CARF looks favorably when competencies are required.CMS does not require a competency but there should be some mechanism to validate the ability to perform the required clinical assessment duties.
