Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:


Performs the activities required to maintain the Physician Incomplete Record/ Chart Control System. Ensures the accuracy of the Suspension Procedure. Analyzes records for completion by physicians to ensure compliance with Medical Staff Rules & Regulations and TJC standards. Assigns physician completion responsibilities. Enters and maintains data in the Chart Control System & updates system following completion of medical records by physician. Performs transcription duties when there is no coverage in that area. Performs release of information duties when appropriate ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and MA. Laws. Assists physicians with the Meditech and Dragon Medical One (DMO). Ensures receipt of all appropriate outpatient/inpatient visits.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School education or equivalent.



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


2 years of HIM experience or related field

Computer skills/Excel Experience.

Able to read, write and speak English.


EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:


Knowledge of medical terminology highly desirable.

RHIT Certification preferred.

Previous work in Medical Records Department preferred.
