Summary

The Administrative Director Nursing is responsible large daily nursing operations, nursing directors as direct reports, is responsible for multiple units and supports the chief nursing officer in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing services to ensure delivery of adequate and competent patient care. This position will require to have FTE's/Departments reporting to it.

Responsibilities

Assists Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) with developing, maintaining, and evaluating organizational planning systems compatible with the ANA Code of Ethics, and Nursing standards to facilitate the delivery of patient care services, assumes role of administrator on call, functions as patient ombudsman; acts on CNO's behalf during absence; oversees direct reports and staffing office functions.

Education

Required: Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a health care related field or a Bachelor of Nursing.

Required: Master of Nursing or master’s in a health care related field.

Experience

Required: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.

Certifications

Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
