Accounting Manager Full Time Days Position Summary

Manages day to day operations. Manages, supervises, orients/trains, and evaluates staff. Enforces policies, procedures, and standards of operation. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with corporate, state, and federal policies and procedure, and generally accepted accounting principles. Implements and maintains controls to adequately safeguard assets. Manages processes and staff in the accurate and timely preparation of external and internal financial reports. Position is responsible for assisting with approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic plannings.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, prioritize and vary work schedule as needed to meet deadlines. Must have critical thinking skills. Requires good interpersonal skills, written and verbal. Ability to mentor staff in a positive and professional manner.

SUPERVISES: May supervise Hospital and Non-Hospital Accounting staff.

THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent minimum experience requirements.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five years healthcare accounting experience or seven to ten years of general accounting/financial experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Understanding of Hospital accounting processes. Experience in preparation of financial statements and budgets, financial analysis, physical inventories, internal controls, business office, materials management, admitting and other hospital departments are preferred. Two to Three years of supervisory experience is preferred.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
