Communications Manager – Abrazo Health (Onsite based in Phoenix, AZ)

The Communications Manager - Abrazo Health is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day hospital communications for all Abrazo hospitals and affiliated entities, including proactive earned media, and internal communications within accordance of all applicable Tenet policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations.
These responsibilities include:
- Participates in the creation of annual communications plans that align with company strategy.
- Implements placement of positive, service line and reputation stories in the local media.
- Press release creation and distribution.
- Maintains/develops media relationships.
- Cultivates patient stories for media placement and patient testimonials.
- Contributes to the hospital's website newsroom content.
- Contributes to media monitoring and reporting.
- Posts to social media - internal events, employee rewards/recognition; collaborates with marketing for service line posting as needed.
- Manages aspects of service recovery.
- Serves as Abrazo PIO.
In addition, the Communications Manager - Abrazo Health will work with the Director, Communications & Media Relations for AZ & TX, on hospital crisis communication and reactive media responses. The Communications Manager, Phoenix, will be the day-to-day contact for hospital CEOs and leadership team for communications support and will work directly with leadership, marketing and strategy teams ensure alignment on supporting hospital strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or related field is required.
- Must have 4-6 years of relevant experience developing communications strategies and driving key messages across internal and external stakeholders.
- Must possess excellent copywriting. editing and researching skills and maintain strong knowledge of the healthcare industry.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with blogs, podcasts and emerging social mediums is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% locally. Selected candidate will be required to pass Motor Vehicle Record check.
