Summary

The role requires ability to multi-task different function while communicating and coordinating unit activities. Effective communication with each Nursing, Physician and interdisciplinary team members. Attends to nursing station and performs clerical and receptionist duties. Performs regular inventory of supplies and responsible in ordering what is required to support daily function and business of the nursing department. Manages and maintains an updated Census board (TEMPO) with appropriate staff assignment and patient information. Supports the Clinical Coordinator in making physician calls, paging any medical team, census balancing, managing ADT (Admission, Discharge and Transfer), recording and assisting in ER throughput and direct admission from external sites, manages ADT with use of PBAR and PAS applications, keeping an updated census log, etc. Manages incoming phone calls and patient calls through Nurse-Call light by following proper phone etiquette. Anticipates the need of the nursing department and participates in planning with team leaders and joining unit huddles for ensuring highly effective and cohesive team. Responsible for ordering supplies, equipment and services as directed. Maintains clean and organized nursing station. Demonstrates flexibility and effectively adapts to consistent changes in patient volume and workflow. This role requires access and work with different hospital and clinical applications to effectively manage different assigned tasks. Reports to unit Clinical Coordinator and Department Manager.

Qualifications

Must be able to speak, read and write English. Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team members. Understanding of Basic medical terminology. Understanding and compliance with HIPAA-patient privacy and confidentiality practice and compliance.

  • Six months previous clerical/ secretarial experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) preferred.
  • Certified C.N.A. or Monitor Tech preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.

Pay Range: $1 - $100

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
