POSITION SUMMARY

The Surgical Services Orderly performs housekeeping duties, assisting with the movement and transporting of patients. Assists with receiving and distribution of supplies and lines/scrubs, and moving of medical equipment to ensure a safe, organized and clean environment for staff and patients. Also assists setting up orthopedic equipment. Performs errands as directed by Nursing personnel. Assists with room turnover in the O.R. Retrieves blood and blood products. Delivers specimens to the laboratory. Provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national standards, and utilizing the nursing process. The Orderly participates in process improvement, professional education, and meetings. Will support all Surgical Services areas as well as Cath Lab/IR.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred: CNA, EMT, Nursing Student

Experience:
Previous OR Orderly exp preferred. On the Job Training

License: N/A

Certification: BLS
