Transcribes and distributes reports of pathological examinations. Performs related clerical duties following established methods and procedures, involving some independent judgment and latitude in completing tasks.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college or vocational training preferred.

Minimum Experience: Up to 1 year experience required. 1 to 2 years of job-related experience preferred. Considerable knowledge of medical terminology, especially anatomic pathology terminology, business English and good spelling skills. Ability to compose and prepare accurate reports, records and correspondences. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to type at a corrected rate of 60 words per minute and transcribe from a computer program. Ability to operate a word processor and other standard office machines. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software helpful. One year experience in medical transcription.
