Reporting to TPR’s National Director of Quality, the Manager of Quality for Tenet Physician Resources (TPR) will serve as resource to support Quality Improvement initiatives within each market medical office locations owned and / or operated by Tenet Healthsystem Medical, Inc (“Tenet”). This individual will promote healthcare outcomes in accordance with the polices, procedures, mission and vision of TPR. Provides training and education to the physicians and staff to promote evidence based medicine, regulatory agency compliance, and ensure quality care to minimize patient harm.

Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of TPR.  

Adheres to the TPR HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.  

Develops, coordinates and implements quality improvement programs. 

Manages clinical standardization and utilization process, review and improvement efforts. 

Work with TPR and regional leadership tracking quality outcome and quality measures as requested. 

Serve as a key member of TPR leadership establishing system quality initiatives and supports the implementation of and adherence to best practices. 

Works with TPR leadership and practices to improve the patient experience. 

Will work with TPR leadership to drive adoption of clinical standards in ambulatory practices. 

Oversees systems for collection, monitoring and reporting of data collected for quality improvement measures, health plan and regulatory agency compliance. 

Conducts data analysis relating to quality improvement to ensure that care provided meets or exceeds standards. 

Participate in workgroups, committees or councils as requested. 

Assist TPR CMO in researching, formulating, writing and implementing policies and protocols for TPR practices. 

Qualifications

Education: Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor of Science in a Healthcare related field required with a current license as a registered nurse. Master’s degree preferred.  Advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) preferred. 

Experience:  Minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare in an ambulatory care setting preferably in an ambulatory setting.    Must have recent experience with ambulatory quality improvement. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Has experience in the following areas: 

Minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare in an ambulatory care setting 

Knowledge in continuous quality improvement theory, statistics and process improvement reporting 

Critical thinking, decisive judgment and analytical ability necessary to assist with complex patient care situations 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with people at all levels of the organization 

Performance improvement in the ambulatory setting 

Population Health Management 

Project management 

Patient Centered Medical Home certification (preferable NCQA) 

Medication – samples, storage, administration, disposal, tracking 

Collaboration with community resources such as home care, nursing homes, etc. 

Physician, Patient and employee engagement improvement 

Must demonstrate past success in using data and adding knowledge-based insight when making business decisions. Demonstrated success in management of projects with cross-functional interdependence. Proven track record of delivering measureable business results. Ability to instruct others, especially peers and clients to explain clinical and technical concepts. Creative thinker who can implement innovative solutions. Excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, and strong attention to detail. Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks and challenges Professional attitude – comfortable working in a corporate setting populated by diverse types of people and able to maintain poise and a sense of humor in stressful situations. Understanding of medical terminology and EMRs. Understanding of medical terminology and ability to research specialty-specific practices. Strong computer literacy including MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint.    

Certification/Licensure: Bachelor of Science in a Healthcare related field.
