Assists with cardiovascular and other invasive studies or treatments. The CV/IR technologist operates x-ray and specials interventional angio suite/cath lab to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by the referring physician. Positions and instructs the patient for the radiological and fluoroscopic examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines the proper exposure settings for each part examined. The technologist must be capable of doing specialized interventional studies and versatile in all operations. Maintains and controls inventory.Qualifications:
Minimum one year previous experience in invasive procedures, minimum one year recent clinical cardiology, interventional radiology or cardiovascular experience. (1) California RT & Fluoro, (2) AA or AS degree in Radiological Sciences, (3) ACLS.
Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification: Minimum two years invasive cardiac cath lab experience; ARRT, RCIS. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
