Program Requirements:
As a PRN member of our nursing staff, you are an important part of our team that provides quality care and great service.
Shift/Weekend Requirements
Be available to work a minimum of 18 shifts per 6-week schedule period – of which 6 of 3 the shifts will be a weekend shift.
Requirements
- Candidates for this program must have a minimum of 2 years’ recent acute care hospital experience.
- Current full-time and part-time employees of Baylor Scott & White Sunnyvale are not eligible to participate.
- Participants are considered temporary employees without benefits, and do not qualify for shift differentials.
- Staffing is based on the current census and staff may be cancelled or flexed when census goes down. Temporary PRN staff will be cancelled before full-time and part-time regular staff.
- Attend mandatory in-services, meetings, and classes.
- Floating will be done by Hospital Policy.
Responsibilities:
Baylor Scott and White Sunnyvale Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Program
- Registered Nurse | RN license
- Must have BLS /ACLS / PALS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse | RN license.
- CPI Certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Proficient in interpreting EKG
- PREFERRED: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master’s degree)

Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
Certifications:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
