Twin Cities Community Hospital
Twin Cities Community Hospital, a 122-bed acute care hospital, has been caring for the communities of Northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. With a medical staff of more than 200 physicians and 400 caregivers and support staff, the hospital specializes in emergency care, obstetrics, orthopedics, digestive disorders, wound care and a broad array of medical, surgical and outpatient services. Twin Cities Community Hospital earned The Joint Commission�s Gold Seal of Approval� with distinction for its knee replacement program and was the first hospital in San Luis Obispo County to earn the LGBTQ Healthcare Equality �Leader� designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. In addition, the hospital is recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery. Baby-Friendly USA designated Twin Cities Community Hospital as an internationally recognized Baby-Friendly birth facility. The hospital also reports one of the lowest Cesarean section rates in the State of California. Twin Cities has earned an �A� from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Position Summary:
The BioMed Engineer is responsible for providing repair service and general maintenance of the hospital biomedical equipment. Including but not limited to Patient Bio-Medical related equipment, Laboratory related equipment, Surgery related equipment, Patient Beds, Nurse Call systems and Medical Gas systems. Operates, maintains, tests, calibrates and inventories existing and new biomedical equipment. Requires participation in company mandated programs. Attends all required departmental, and hospital-wide meetings. Assists with hospital security needs as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: 2 years progressive responsibility in multiple clinical areas and/or multiple modalities.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
None required. Preferred: Certificate of training from a Technical School in Biomedical Electronics. AAMI Certification preferred.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions, read & interpret schematic diagrams, and flow charts, work cooperatively with others, and perform functions of the position efficiently and safely using test equipment and/or tools or machinery.
PHYSICAL JOB CLASSIFICATION:

Pay Range: $27.67 - $42.88
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee’s qualifications and experience.
