Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs complex diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Produces high quality diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities  

  • Produces high quality images in a safe and efficient manner.   
  • Completes required exams;  
  • Sends studies to reading station for radiologist review  
  • Completes all associated documentation. 
  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body. 
  • Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. 
  • Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor. 
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. 
  • Performs MRI procedures utilizing a variety of frequencies, planes and techniques.  

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Required:  Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program. ARRT (R) and documentation of MRI training and experience; must obtain MRI Registry within one year of hire; BLS;  state license if required 
     
  • Preferred:  Associates degree or Bachelor's degree,  1-3 years experience
