Up to $5,000 Sign On Bonus available based on experience
Summary
Prepares and cooks food for patients, cafeteria and special functions according to standardized recipes, departmental policies and procedures. Maintains food quality, appearance and taste. Maintains safe food temperatures to comply with all surveying agencies. Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of his/her works areas, coolers/freezers and equipment. In absence of the foodservice manager, he/she is responsible for food production for cafeteria and special functions. Responsible for produce inventory and purchasing. Completes daily cleaning assignments. Supervises, trains and inservices cooking staff. Responsible for, initiation of corrective action addressing employee behavior and/or work performance up to and including termination. Complies with all local, state and federal food codes and regulations. Records food temperatures, refrigeration and freezer temperatures. Takes appropriate action if temperatures are out of range. Sweeps and mops floors in workstation at end of shift. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Manager or Director.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Licensure/Certification
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Culinary Institute graduate preferred.
- Serve Safe Sanitation Certified, or obtained within 6 months of employment.
Experience
Three to five years cooking experience. Healthcare foodservice preferred.
