Description
The Lead Rehab Tech is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Rehabilitation Department by overseeing and guiding the activities of rehabilitation aides/techs. This role works closely with the Office Supervisor to ensure efficient workflow, adequate staffing coverage, and consistent adherence to departmental protocols. The Rehab Tech Lead acts as a liaison between aides/techs and management and plays a key role in onboarding and training new staff.

1. Assist the Office Supervisor with various administrative and operational tasks as assigned.
2. Prepare and distribute daily aide/tech assignments to ensure full coverage of all necessary duties and patient care support needs.
3. Monitor and adjust aide/tech coverage as needed to respond to call-outs, scheduling changes, or priority shifts.
4. Train new rehabilitation aides/techs, ensuring understanding of department protocols, patient safety procedures, and quality standards.
5. Maintain oversight of the daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, ensuring tasks are completed and documented properly.
6. Serve as a point of contact for rehab aides/tech for questions or concerns during shifts.
7. Promote teamwork and a positive work environment within the aide/tech team.
8. Support therapy staff as needed with patient transport, equipment setup/cleaning, and other rehab-related duties.
9. Report any performance concerns or operational issues to the Office Supervisor in a timely manner.
10. Assist in inventory tracking, equipment maintenance, and general department upkeep.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Required: At least one year of experience as a rehab aide/tech or in a related role.
- Maintenance and/or cleaning experience preferred
- Six months in healthcare setting preferred
- Attention to detail – meticulous
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
- Team player - possess a great attitude
- Safety minded
