Pharmacist Intern Per Diem Variable

Description:

Summary: Assists in the preparation, packaging, delivering and charging of medication orders, under the supervision of the pharmacist.  Processes new medication orders as well as discharges and transfers.  Assists in training of new technical personnel.  Responsible for stocking medications and inventory management.  Involved with Pharmacy quality assurance activities and assists the pharmacists as needed.  Prepares and delivers IV sterile products under the supervision of the pharmacist. Performs assignments as required by the College of Pharmacy and/or preceptor.  



Qualifications:

Education

Required: Graduate of approved Pharmacy Program. All requirement have been met on the laws and rules of the State of Florida for a graduate Pharmacy Intern, granted the right to sit for the Board of Pharmacy exam, must take the exam within 120 days of graduation.

Experience

Required: 0 - 2 years previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.  Knowledge of Medical and/or Pharmaceutical terminology preferred. Good organizational skills preferred.  Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.

Preferred: 2 years of prior acute care experience

Certifications

Required: Current Pharmacist Intern licensure in the State of Florida required.
