Quality Coordinator Medical Affairs Full Time Days
Job Details
- Oversees daily workflow of Global Business Center Abstractors
- Ensures logs are maintained so that the Quality department has insight into abstracted data
- Completes and reports Inter-Rater Reliability on all abstracted data fallouts and elevates < 90% compliance rate to the Quality Manager
- Ensures all abstraction and registry deadlines are met
- Elevates issues and concerns related to abstraction to the Quality Manager
- Monitors Kaleidoscope data related to mortality, patient safety indicators, complications, and service lines
- Reviews numerator data in detail daily and monthly
- Reviews cases submitted by the coding department & assists to resolve issues as it relates to clinical data
- Maintains a log of numerator information
- Develops & distributes dashboards for trending and analysis
- Elevates potential quality of care issues to the peer review nurse and Quality Manager timely
- Elevates potential quality of care issues to the peer review nurse timely
- Notifies appropriate manager of standard variances/non-compliance
- Participates in accreditation and certification activity
- Participates in active surveillance rounds as assigned by Quality Manager; identifies and reports any deviation from recommended practices
- Participates as an active member of assigned committees that support the quality department
- Assists with education related to clinical quality and accreditation standards
- Participates and leads performance improvement activity as assigned by the Quality Manager
- Initiates personal growth opportunities.
- Complies with continuing education requirements
- Fosters a spirit of teamwork within the department.
- Presents creative solutions to challenges.
- Performs all responsibilities in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Management
Experience:
- Required: 3-5 yrs inpatient nursing and 2 yrs in Quality Management or Management/Assistant Management
- 3-5 yrs inpatient nursing and 2 yrs in Quality Management or Management/Assistant Management
License:
- REGISTERED NURSE
Certifications:
- Not Applicable

Position Summary
The Quality Coordinator is responsible and accountable for ensuring clinical measures are monitored and validated both concurrently and retrospectively on all measures abstracted. S/he monitors and trends clinical quality data and develops and distributes appropriate dashboards and reports. S/he participates in all performance Improvement and Accreditation activity as assigned.
