Summary
The Operating Room Surgical Technician assists with surgical instruments in the OR based on procedure performed, standards, guidelines, and policies set for the unit. Operating Room Surgical Technician functions under the guidance of the Registered Nurse and surgeon.
Qualifications:
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED Certificate, Graduate of approved surgical tech school, unless LPN with a minimum of 2 years surgical experience
Experience
Preferred: 1 year experience as surgical technician
Certifications
Required: Florida LPN Licensure, if not a Graduate of approved Surgical Tech School, and American Heart Association BLS
Preferred: Surgical Technology Certification
Minimum of 2 years acute care surgical experience to qualify for sign on bonus.
Current employees of the unit have seniority priority for consideration.
