Summary:
Responsible for the accurate preparation of the legal birth certificate in accordance with Massachusetts Laws. Works with patients and legal representatives from the State of Massachusetts to ensure that the existing Massachusetts laws and statutes governing birth records are applied in full compliance with those agencies. Abstracts medical information as it relates to the mother and baby from medical record for statistical reporting to Department of Health.
Onboarding Process: Please be advised that candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening which includes a drug screen.
Education:
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Associates Degree or comparable level of health care experience required. Medical Terminology required.
Knowledge of Massachusetts State Laws regarding the processing of birth certificates preferred.
Experience:
Must have proficiency in conflict resolution and group dynamics. Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, problem solving, ability to protect confidential/privileged patient information, and strong computer skills.
Medical Record Department background preferred.
Licensure:
Notary Public Commission or must receive Notary Public Commission within one year of hire.
