About this job
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Operation of specialized radiologic equipment in the OR and assisting the surgeon in obtaining high quality images in the performance of procedures on veins and arteries. Procedures include but are not limited to angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, TCAR, and EVAR.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintenance of radiological equipment
-Proper operation of power injector
-Contact appropriate service when needed
-Verify that all daily and weekly performance maintenance checks and licenses are up to date
-Verify and post all Radiologic Licenses and registrations in a conspicuous location
-Clean the Artis Pheno, table, ultrasound machine, arm board(s) and power injector after each procedure
-Inventory- Order supplies on a daily basis as needed
-Verification of expiration dates
-Unpacks and stores deliveries and verifies all items are present
--Maintains fluoroscopy and case log at end of each case
-Required to take call every other week, every other weekend, every other holiday
schedule includes every other weekend and call responsibilities (including ability to be to hospital within 30min).
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a two-year program in an AMA accredited School of Radiologic Technology
EXPERIENCE:
3-years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred with OR experience
OTHER:
ARRT Registered Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
BLS
Must have updated continuing education credits as required by the license
KEY COMPETENCIES
Analytical and problem-solving skills a plus
Knowledge of McKesson, Meditech, and Intellispace
Excellent patient care and communication skills required
Proper Sterile Technique a must
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing and wearing lead aprons for extended periods of time
