About this job

Saint Vincent Hospital provides advanced treatment precision with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). This technology accounts for patient motion to make sure that the radiation target is in position every treatment session. IGRT uses radiographic and computed tomography (CT) scan modes to automatically reposition and stay locked on target. IGRT provides high-resolution, 3-D images to pinpoint tumor sites, adjust patient positioning if necessary and complete treatment within the standard treatment time. Under supervision of the Chief Therapist, localizes tumor site and applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Maintains detailed records of all treatment sessions, including verification of area treated and dose given, proper patient alignment to the machine and the total dose of radiation received to date.
