Patient care assistants (PCA) provide individualized, culture-specific bedside patient care by attending to the personal needs and comfort of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Working as a PCA with Abrazo Health will provide you with the skill sets to pursue a possible career as a registered nurse. You gain valuable experience in our hospital system and get to know professionals within Abrazo who can assist your career growth and enhance your passion for the healthcare field. You are in place to have opportunities to segway into multiple disciplines throughout our hospital system and help develop clarity to define your passion for patient care.

Special skills:

• Excellent customer service and basic computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and health care team members.
• Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile techniques and infection control best practices.

The PCA candidate will possess the following education, license/certifications and experience —

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Minimum experience: N/A
• Preferred experience: One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting.
• Required certifications/licensure: CPR/BLS from an AHA provider.

Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; PTO programs for personal time off; 401k; and tuition reimbursement. Pay starts at $15.23 hourly or more depending on previous work experiences.
