Shelby Baptist Medical Center: Located in Alabaster, this facility is equipped with 252 beds and sees over 51,000 patients in the emergency department every year. Shelby offers advanced technology resources including a 3 Tesla MRI, a robotic surgery program, and a state-of-the-art cardiology suite. Shelby offers a full range of services to meet the diverse needs of patients including fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including specialized surgical services; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; and psychiatric care.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of an RN, Performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature as well as assists the physician during all procedures. Works with patients from adolescents to geriatrics. In addition trains Cardiovascular Technicians and other Cath Lab personnel. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities
Monitors cardiac procedures and calculates hemodynamic data; assists nursing personnel with emergency procedures; assumes responsibility for maintenance and quality control of equipment; cleans and packages instruments/supplies for sterilization; assumes role of monitor tech as needed; provides support and direction as needed to other technologists.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required: Graduate of an approved Radiology or Cardiology Technology program or equivalent education
Preferred: 2 years in Interventional Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology


LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATIONS
Required: ARRT, RCIS, or RCES; BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire into position
