Job SummaryTo provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, perform approved nursing procedures and assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with legal, Hospital practice, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state of Tennessee.
Responsibilities- Provides direct care to assigned patients; follows physician’s order in the delivery of nursing care.
- Assists admission process, may discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patient's activities and care.
- Uses the nursing plan of care in daily assignments, able to review and under supervision modify the plan of care.
- Demonstrates ability to observe and record the signs, symptoms and behaviors, including the physiological status of patients; presents the assessment of changes, the proposed revision of interventions and desired outcomes.
- Notifies appropriate nursing and medical staff to changes in the patient's status; recognizes patient care priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient care crises.
- Performs duties as assigned.
- Required:
- Education: Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nurse program and current applicable state licensure/permit.
- Licensure/Certification:
- LPN license;
- current CPR Certification
